Virginia Kantra: Forgotten Sea

For the ties to several threads in the story to make senseLara Rho is a Nephilim a fall angel or air elemental She was rescued by another fallen angel and given refuge in his well warded school where fallen angels and half angels of their kind are brought for protection and training Laura trained as a Seeker one who goes out and finds these that are in danger from the demon children of fire and need to be brought in On her first assignment she is drawn to a beautiful carefree sailor Justin Miller who turns out to be well not an angel He s fascinating and nothing like those back at her home where following the rules and trying to achieve higher knowledge is important than free choice and following the heartJustin thought he was human and remembers nothing before seven years previously when he was rescued from a shipwreck as the only survivor but now he s expected to believe that he s not human and Lara is a real angel Of course the fire demon attack and the surge of power in him proves her right and they end up on uite the adventure trying to get him some answers Meanwhile he holds Laura at arm s length because he doesn t believe he has it in him to do a long term relationshipIt was great to get a story that involved the air elementals and learning about them after the earlier books mentioned them as one of the four elemental races I also enjoyed learning the twist on Justin s life and the situation for Lucy and Conn The fire elementals and some others make things get pretty exciting for Lara and Justin They have a romance on the run even though both are in denial and don t think it will work and until they get all the answers this is pretty much trueBut as much as I liked this one and devoured it uickly I felt it was sadly under developed If this is was meant to be the last book in the series let s ust say it was a fail Too much was left up in the air for the series story arcs But I got the feeling it was meant to be a longer series and for whatever reason was stopped suddenly So I ll Una vida absolutamente maravillosa just wish that maybe nearly a decade later we can get another oneUnfortunately that was not the only under developed part This romance and I do mean talk of love and forever took place in three days And right up until the last of the third day there was little than sexual attraction between them unless you count mutual life saving and sharing backgrounds with assurances that neither wanted long term Don t get me wrong I wasn t opposed to them being together and wanted that but Iust wasn t feeling it based on what was thereThis story had a lot going on between the previous plot threads carrying over the introduction of the Nephilim ongoing demon threats the romance and facing up to their pasts For example Lucy and Conn loose their baby and their relationship is drifting apart It gets maybe a total of three or four pages when this is a major thing that seems to be mentioned in passing All the threads tugging at the whole made for each thread to get stretched thin on development So while I could get on board with the characters their situations and the action element I really needed to see a great deal development and a little evidence or time for a true romance to develop Just too much and needed pages I m saddened that I had to feel like this for the last book that has been published in this series I still think the series is well worth other paranormal romance fans to pick up especially if they like spicy hot romance and a uniue worldbuilding with great characters Forgotten Selkies NO Hello Fallen AngelsI don t know what happen with this story but I felt like the book was rushed to get the story out The plot and build up of the story was too short like the author was searching for the adventure to get to the end of the story I liked the Fallen Angel Lara Rho s back ground and the fact that there is a society of fallen angels out there with different powers etc However what I didn t understand is why Justin took so long to find his people after the ship wreck I don t think the connection between Lara and Justin was Cuentos reunidos justified correctly I mean sure they made out and had the hots for each other but with them being on the run it was like their getting to know one another and spend uality time with each other was short lived and then all of a sudden they were in love I kept waiting for the Fallen Angel Group to come together and help Justin and the other Selkies but that never happened Honestly I love Virginia Kantra s writing but this book wasust average for me I didn t hate it but wasn t madly in love in awe with it either like I was with the other booksEven the prior characters from the other books missed their connection in this story it was like they were strangers until the end I think Con should of been the one searching and finding Justin or even rescuing himIt would be interesting though now to see if the Author will continue the Children of the Sea series or start a spin off from it to introduce these new Fallen Angels with all their powersRegardless I m still a big fan of Virginia Kantr. Don't know kills them both A passionate Extreme Teaming journey of discovery Pursued by Lara's colleagues and hunted by demons the two set out on aourney into their darkest fears and deepest desires Together they have powers neither imagined But when Justin discovers his merfolk past will he turn his back on his true natureor his newfound lo.

Was an ok book but certainly not up to some of the books from this author that I have read Iestyn has been missing for seven years ever since demons destroyed Sanctuary He has had amnesia and a pull towards the sea until fallen angel Lara finds him and her presence brings back his memories He finds himself his family and love with Lara within a week of knowing her Good continuation of The Children of The Sea series Review of Forgotten Sea by Virginia Kantra 3 out of 5 He was shaken Changed She had changed him Lara s kiss soft lips warm breath her life her strength in him had ripped through him with the force of a tornado churning him to the depths he floundered in a sea of memory and desire at the mercy of his dreams a plaything of the waves a prisoner of his own mind Justin has no memory of his past except for the last seven years of his life All he knows is that is he is most at home when by the sea so he makes a living working on boats and traveling the world never uite fitting in and always feeling as if something is missing Out of the blue Lara Rho approaches him asking for a date Little does he know that she can help him discover all that he has forgottenLara Rho is a fallen angel a Nephilim and a Seeker for the children of air As a Seeker it is her ob to find other children of air before they are found and destroyed by children of fire The children of air strive for the perfection that they had before they fell and follow the very strict Rule of their Guardians Those who choose to not follow the Rule become flyers and live on their own hiding from demons and the Guardians Lara has always followed the Rule and strives to be a strong Seeker for her people One night she has a dream that leads her to Norfolk Virginia and to Justin who might be a Nephilim This chance meeting changes everything Lara knows and sends her and Justin on a Organization Development in Healthcare journey to find outust exactly who or what he isI was very excited when I got this book a read what it was about because I had Ethnographic Research just told a girlfriend I wanted to read a book about mermaids but I m getting a head of myself Forgotten by Sea was is the first book I ve read by Virginia Kantra and I plan on reading the rest of the books in her Children of the Sea stories Since I hadn t read any of the previous books in the series it took me a couple of chapters to really figure out exactly what was going on especially since I was expecting the book to be about merepeople and it started with fallen angles From what I could gather this was a much different setting from the other books in the seriesI liked this book a lot and was so happy with the last two thirds of it The first third of the book takes place with Lara finding Justin only to discover he is Other and then having to bring him to the Nephilim s compound called Rockhaven At Rockhaven we meet the other Nephilim and the Guardians I disliked every single Guardian so much so that if the entire book had taken place at Rockhaven I wouldn t have finished it I understand the need for the story to go to Rockhaven so Lara and Justin could run off together and start theirourney but I The Nordic Varieties of Capitalism just felt like there was no explanation to why almost all the Nephilim were completeerks I felt like there were a lot of things in the story that could have been explained and I still have uestions about some parts of the story that I don t think would be answered of I read the earlier booksAfter Lara and Justin escape Rockhaven and set off to find out who Justin really is the story gets much better I really liked Justin or Isetyn as he wants to be called when his memories start coming back I liked that he gradually started to remember his past and isn t ust hit over the head and wakes up remembering everything The romance that develops between Lara and Isetyn is very cute and sweet The chemistry between makes for some very steamy chapters and also some very touching moments I think I actually said Aaaahhhh out loud once or twiceI was kinda hoping to get to know the characters a little better then I did I feel because of the focus is on Isrtyn we get of his back story and get a better understanding of who he is and who he was With Lara it s vaguely described how and why she fell from Heaven that she was abused in some sort of way as a child after she fell and for some reason which we are never told why the leader of Rockhaven Simon wants her I really felt that I would have liked the story and especially Lara if I could have had answers to these events and peopleI gave this book 3 out of 5 because I liked the story but I didn t LOVE it I felt that a lot of the plot could have been done with detail and much backgound information I felt like we were giving an outer layer of the characters and the plot and I wanted to know so much then I was told I did really enjoy the scenes with the other children of the sea and I really love the idea of the finfolk and the merefolkThe romance between Lara and Iestyn is very well written and will keep you turning the page I am defiantly going to read the rest of the books in this se. A lost soul Fallen angel Lara Rho is eager to prove herself as a Seeker one called to rescue other children of air before they are hunted down by the children of fire Drawn to rootless restless sailor Justin Miller she is determined to save him But Justin is no angel A lost life Charming drifter Justin is reluctant to get tangl.

Ries but I think Forgotten Sea could defiantly be read on it s own with no problem Good book to what I hope is a great series Forgotten Sea is Iestyn s story We know that Conn the sea lord sent the children away on a boat when Sanctuary was attacked and that the ship wrecked with them never foundLara is a fallen angelchildren of air who is now working as Seeker trying to find fallen like herwho fell for interfering and take them to Rockhaven a school for people like them The school has been a haven for her after she fell and was violated She thinks she has found one of them but can t be sure The guy is Justin and is working on a boat she invites him for a drink but when she touches him she realizes she was wrongShe leaves him but outside she and her partner are attacked by demons and Justin comes to rescue and is injured Lara takes him to the school knowing that she is breaking the rules I found the Guardians irritating and not at all good at first Lara was still that girl who listened to people at higher position than her but then she rebels she gives him a knife and when he escapes and comes to her door to tell her to help him she doesJustin doesn t know his past He only remembers that past seven years and only the sea makes him comfortable He doesn t believe Lara s talk of magic and at first but being in contact with her brings back his memories that he is Iestyn a child of the sea but he is not sure he can go back since he thinks everything was lost seven years beforeThey escape outrunning demons Lara has a problem with sex but with Justin she feels comfortable The book was enjoyable nothing that great but not bad as wellview spoilerMy one problem with the series is that it instead of painting a rosy picture as is the case in romance it doesn tthe characters we meet in novellas of this series die and the heroes are not very heroic maybe it is because they are not human but still hide spoiler I won a personalized copy of this from Virginia Kantra s blogForgotten Sea is book five in Virginia Kantra s The Children of the Sea seriesLara Rho is a fallen angel trying to prove that she is worthy of the title Seeker It was her ob to find and rescue the newly fallen children of the air before they were found by their enemies the children of fire While out on a seeking mission Lara is drawn to Justin There s The Redemption of Holly Dobson just one problemhe s no angelJustin was a man with ties to nobody or nothing but the sea He remembered nothing of his life before seven years ago Happy with his drifter lifestyle he didn t plan on spending than a night with Lara when she picks him up down at the docks However an impulsive action on his part starts them on an unexpectedourney to discover his past Along the way their passion ignites with only a sparkI find myself having the hardest time deciding on how to rate this book It was a good book with all the elements necessary that make a great PNR It Under His Skin just didn t do it for me I m not sure why I liked it but it wasust OK in my opinion I think it was me though The cover is great and the storyline of children of the sea isn t overdone There aren t a lot of SelkieMerfolk books out there not like vampires and shifters There was some heat to it and the love scenes were well written Like I said it had all the necessary partsI think I ll have to give it a four because I know it was a good book My radar must Hate just be offFavorite lineSometimes you didn t need words and guarantees Sometimes one look said everything and an act one gesture of faith was enoughLook for my reviews on another wonderful read from Virginia Kantra Sweet hot and satisfyingly romantic For those who like a paranormal that s on the light side Kantra s The Children of the Sea are perfect Even for those who don t really like paranormal could read these stories Forgotten Sea is about a fallen angel and Justin a man that s then he appears What you ll have to read the book to find out The bond between Lara and Justin happens uickly even if they don t understand it at first That bond will get them though some tough times in the coming days This is a wonderful story that makes you want to keep reading until you get to the end I also enjoy the see past characters I liked this one as much as the others Got to meet another group of elementals the fallen Children of Air I enjoyed getting a glimpse of several prior characters My only issue It didn t feel like a last book Yes some things were resolved JustinIestyn gets his memory backreunites with his family But the underlying story from all 5 books the war with the Children of FireDemons is not resolved So I came to the last book of the series and had that usual booklover sense of dread and anticipation because this was it How would the series end and important would I be satisfied Well let sust say that I thought this was an all new characters story until a surprise twist tied it right in and gave a story that I didn t even realize that I was missingForgotten Sea is the fifth of the Children of the Sea stories and it definitely doesn t make for a good standalone. Ed up in port with conscientious Lara A child of the sea Justin remembers nothing of his life before the day he was plucked from a shipwreck seven years ago But one impulsive act lands him literally on the side of the angels and on the run for his life Lara and Justin must work together to uncover his identity before what they.
